Dullstroom is some 260km east of Gauteng and is an easy 2-and-a-half hour drive from Johannesburg, 2 hours of which are on dual lane highway. Dullstroom is situated in the Steenkampsberg and lies over 2 000m above sea level. It has a sub-alpine climate with cool winters and mild summers.
Dullstroom is arguably South Africa's fly-fishing capital, offering excellent still water and river fishing. Rainbow and brown trout are stocked in most dams and streams. For the non-fishermen, Dullstroom is also a shoppers delight with 5 shopping nodes on the main road (R540) offering a wide range for the shopper looking for something different with more than 13 eateries to chose from.
Highland Gate will consist of the following elements
- A championship Ernie Els designed 18-hole golf course , as well as a driving range
- A clubhouse that will serve the golf course as well as being the community centre for the estate
- Approximately 510 fully serviced residential stands, with stand sizes varying from approximately 800 m2 to 1 ha.
